Early Life and Career
Ronaldo de Assis Moreira, commonly known as Ronaldinho Gaúcho or simply Ronaldinho, is a Brazilian former professional footballer and ambassador for Barcelona. He played mostly as an attacking midfielder but was also deployed as a forward or a winger on occasion.
He played for clubs in Brazil, France, Spain, and Mexico in a career spanning 20 seasons. His impressive performances led to worldwide recognition and he won the FIFA World Player of the Year award in 2004 and 2005. He is regarded to be one of the best players of his generation.
Ronaldinho was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. began his career with Grêmio before moving to the French club Paris Saint-Germain in 2001.
He signed for Barcelona in 2003 for a fee of €30 million and became an integral part of the club’s “Abidal – Puyol – Valdés – Messi – Xavi – Iniesta” midfield that won many trophies including two Champions League titles and La Liga four times.
returned to Brazil to play for Fluminense in 2015 before moving to Atlético Mineiro a year later where he won the Campeonato Mineiro twice. Ronaldinho retired from football in 2018 after a brief spell with Chapecoense.
At the international level, Ronaldinho earned 97 caps for Brazil between 1999 and 2013, scoring 33 goals. He was a member of the 2002 FIFA World Cup-winning team and starred alongside compatriot Adriano in the 2006 FIFA World Cup.

Later Career and Retirement
He left Barcelona in 2008 to join Milan, where he won the Serie A title in his first season.
After his second season with Milan, Ronaldinho’s career rapidly deteriorated due to injuries and a loss of form. He was released by Milan in January 2011 and returned to Brazil to play for Flamengo.
However, Ronaldinho left Flamengo on 6 July 2012 due to an unpaid salary of R$10 million.
On 9 January 2015, Ronaldinho signed a two-year deal with Fluminense;

In February 2018, Ronaldinho announced his retirement from football at the age of 37.
In 2013, Ronaldinho launched his fashion label called “Ginga 10”. The line included sports shoes, shirts, and shorts for men. Ginga means “skill” or “flair” in Portuguese, commonly used when referring to the Brazillian style of play.
Legacy
He was an exceptional talent and entertained crowds with his skill and flair on the pitch.
Ronaldinho was a true pioneer of the game. He popularized many of the tricks and flicks that are now commonplace in football.
